My wife and I have spent one week in this hotel during a 3 week holiday on the Channel Islands. I have to emphasise that we live in the country in a very quiet place and that we have a lot of positive experiences with Country Hotels in Britain, France and Germany. The Rue du Friquet is a small road, but unfortunately very busy from very early morning until very late at night. Our room (25) was directly facing this road and the traffic noise was unbearable (you may see this differently if you live in central London). Unfortunately, the bed was so uncomfortable and ultra soft that I preferred to rest on the floor for the entire stay after the first sleepless three hours. Again, you may say that I am picky and I am aware that the comfort of a bed varies from hotel to hotel and is also seen differently by different individuals. However, due to extensive business and holiday travel I have spent about 100 nights per year in a hotel on average during the last 10 years and this has never happened to me. Being 50 sleeping on the floor and having expected something very different, you may understand my disappointment, especially as otherwise everything else is fine (esp the fantastic fresh seafood in the Restaurant). Therefore my overall negative Evaluation. In short: Would I stay there again? Certainly not! Would I dine in the restaurant again? Definitely yes!!!
