I feel like the floor in the bathroom could've been cleaner... It seemed liked it hadn't been mopped. Other than that I enjoyed my stay.

It was a great room, next to two restaurants
I had to take a cold shower the entire time I was there. I was only able to have one key, I did not like that. I did not wake up to a receipt under my door. I did not see any housekeeper around just in case I needed more towels. These are the things that normally happens when I book a room with Holiday Express and it did not happen this time. Lastly, the guy at the front desk was very short over the phone. If I ever book again I will go back to Merrillville where they have the beauty rest mattresses and better services!

This hotel room was SO disgusting I ended up walking around in my sandals the entire time I was there. In the photos, you can see the one with the washcloth - that was after I wiped it across the tiled floor in the entry and bathroom after I noticed my feet were filthy after taking a shower. There were also marks on the door jams, the dirtiest grout I've seen and the coffee machine was gross too. Stains on the blanket were a nice addition to the filth. In addition to this, the staff was NEVER wearing masks. Even though you pass signs when walking in and throughout the building that you have to wear a mask, the staff could not be bothered. Neither could other guests and the signs were definitely not enforced so I'm not sure why they are even posted. When I arrived, the person who checked me in barely said 5 words during the entire process and greeted me with a rude and mumbled "I help you?!" And nothing was explained about why I was giving him my card (good thing I already understand it's for incidental charges), nothing about any Covid-related changes either. I've been in this type of hotel every other week since July and have never experienced such lack of care, disgustingness and just plain carelessness during this pandemic going on. It's clear this hotel doesn't care about their guests comfort or health, which is so scary during these times. You are better off staying elsewhere in this area, there are plenty of hotels to choose from that aren't just plain unsafe.
Check in was smooth, and the service desk staff was really nice. Our room and view were great, but there were a few things that needed to be double checked. For example, there was a hair on one of the "fresh towels" and a stain on another. Two of the pillow cases had stains as well,and shouldn't have been used. Although I could tell it was washed, the stain was still there. I would hope to remain as cleanly as possible these items would be removed and are not attractive for the new customer staying here each night. I would come back for sure, but would hope for a higher attention to detail on those areas.
Pool was available and needed this with everything going on.
we stayed there to get away for the weekend thinking that their pool and fitness center were open, but they we not. so we stayed in the room most of the time. I think they should of put on their website that these 2 things were closed, other hotels did do that.
