Horrible Experience – Deceptive and Negligent Management
If I could give zero stars, I would. My stay at Sonesta Simply Suites Irvine (Irvine, CA) was an absolute nightmare due to gross negligence, deception, and complete disregard for guests’ comfort.
On March 15-16, 2025, I stayed with my family. Despite being assured a peaceful stay until our noon checkout, we were abruptly awakened at around 8 AM by extremely loud drilling, hammering, machinery, and furniture dragging from the room above us. It was clearly heavy-duty construction, not normal guest activity.
I called the front desk multiple times, but no one answered. When I walked down in person, the staff blatantly lied, claiming it was just a guest upstairs and that they would call upstairs. Once got back to the room the noise persisted. I again call the front desk and Only after repeated questioning did they finally admit they were renovating a bathroom and replacing a bathtub directly above our room—while we were still checked in!
This was completely unacceptable and reckless. They could have scheduled construction after checkout hours, but instead, they knowingly placed us under an active work zone, ignored complaints, and lied about the situation. Their actions caused severe sleep deprivation, mental distress, and ruined our stay.
I am now pursuing legal action for negligence, breach of contract, fraudulent misrepresentation, & emotional distress. No guest should ever experience this kind of dishonesty
