The grounds were lovely. We wished our room was in the original building, rather than the addition with entrance from the back. The dining area was spectacular and the morning breakfast divine. The presentation was lovely and assortment of sweets and savories was brilliant. We wanted to stay and sit in the dining area for the rest of the day.
The stepson who checked us in was the only downside of our stay at Walaker. He was officious, abrupt, discourteous to our driver/guide and made a big deal about serving us dinner.
Also, the speaker after dinner barely covered the history of Walaker and the family but seemed very impressed with himself and his humor was sometimes off.
