If you want delicious food in the evening and a bed for the night in a pretty village, then you won’t be disappointed. Staff were friendly too. However the room was tiny and very dated and the en suite was not much more than a cupboard, soundproofing is very poor. Breakfast was a little bit Fawlty Towers, I was told a flat white wasn’t a problem but was given a cup of black coffee,Asking for hot milk seemed to be disconcerting. Toast was forgotten, there was no salt, pepper or jams and marmalades on the table and there were apologies for the lack of yoghurt for my muesli, which was very basic and dry. The general sense is that this pub is a good restaurant, very Farrow and Ball and stripped pine downstairs but no effort upstairs. Parking was limited to one tight space because there is building work and a temporary kitchen, which has used up the remainder. This is our second time here, the last time was before Covid. This time we were here to visit Sezincote (wow) Food in the evening has been consistently good but breakfast a definite deterioration.
