I checked in and immediately there were other guests or something screaming at each other in the lobby. No staff seemed to care, so I assumed it was not a big deal and it wouldn't matter once I was in my room. Went to my floor and immediately ran into more people screaming and arguing in the hallway. Went into my room and immediately noticed an off-putting smell, but it physically looked clean. I went to lock the door behind me and the door would not lock appropriately. I was going to head back down and request a new room with a functional lock, but upon passing the same groups of fighting visitors, determined I cannot stay here. I talked to the front desk and let them know, and they were very apologetic and understanding.
All of this happened in about 45 minutes from arrival to getting back in my car.
Tried to request a refund and was told there is nothing that they can do. Looking at a credit card chargeback at this point and hoping that a can get a refund for a service that was not rendered.
This hotel was very slightly less expensive than others within a few minutes of driving, and I cannot speak to those, but I recommend staying elsewhere.
