First of all, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated relatively close to the lifts bringing you to Aletsch Arena. The walk from hotel to lifts takes ~10 minutes, however, some energy shall be saved for the return as the walkway is rather steep. The swimming pool and sauna are very comfortable option, however with some limitations. The pool has hot salted water with jacuzzi, etc.,which is ideal for relax. However the overall comfort is quite basic, lacking the "extra personal touch". The wellness area is closed during the lunch time and closes in the evening at 7 (Sunday morning is closed as well, but opened longer in the evening during the week, not much useful for weekend guests). This is rather disappointing if you want to relax after a tour or skiing day. There is only one restaurant next to hotel, for others one has to walk to the village, which is OK. In general , the hotel is a little bit outdated, however it is clean. For a four star hotel one would expect the breakfast offer to be more rich. If you do not want to stay directly in the car free zone of Aletsch, this is probably the best choice in the area. In total: good basis for day trips, relaxing swimming pool and wellness, basic comfort for a little bit higher price.
