We chose this hotel as a family with 2 children because there were still affordable rooms for 4 in the week around Memorial Day.
We were prepared by the other reviews that the rooms are really small for 4 people, that breakfast is very crowded on the weekends and that you sometimes have to wait a few minutes for the elevator. However, we didn't find this to be a problem. The team at the reception and at the breakfast was very friendly and quick. And the elevators were also operated by the staff when there was a deadlock because all the waiting guests were constantly pressing all the buttons. However, it's also fun to walk down the 28 floors.
The location is ideal. Only 1 minute to the Metro and you can reach any station in Manhattan within 20 minutes. The neighborhood consists of restaurants and flower stores. Shops for snacks and drinks are one street away.
We had a room on the 28th floor with a view of the Empire State Building. This was great, especially in the evening when the buildings are illuminated.
We used the airport service and our luggage was safely stored in the hotel until the evening. However, the shuttle bus was old and dirty. The driver probably expected more tip than the 10$ I gave and left angrily without saying goodbye. I would take an Uber next time which is a similar price.
Overall, I can only recommend this hotel. If you have higher expectations you should probably look for a hotel in Manhattan at a higher price.
