I have no idea how this hotel has such a good rating. Of course, when we got there all my son wanted to do was swim, so I didn’t discover all of issues until after we returned from our 15 minutes in the pool. It was only 15 minutes because the pool was so hot it felt like a hot tub. There was zero chlorine smell, and it was covered in slimy algae. So, while the pool was a disappointment, I’m thankful because at least that meant my stuff was only in that cockroach filled room for 15 minutes rather than and hour. I wish I had inspected the room first thing. Lesson learned.
The bathroom was absolutely disgusting, and everything had a layer of filth on it. This prompted me to check beds. I pulled up sheets to find the mattress in a fully incased “bedbug mattress protector” (I used to sell mattress in Ohio, I know a bed bug protector when I see one lol) so that was a huge red flag. While I didn’t find bed bugs, every layer of bedding had some sort of stain or hair on it.. After seeing all of this, I wanted to get a refund and began getting our stuff together… and that’s when I saw the cockroaches. I stood still and could see 3 baby cockroaches within my line of sight. THAT WAS JUST ON ONE WALL. Shortest hotel stay ever.
**Less important - the halls were also disgusting, and there was no AC in them. They periodically had little portable ones placed throughout, but it did nothing. The halls were musty and hot. Again, not a deal breaker like everything else, but worth mentioning.
