Stayed there for two nights. Attended a conference at the university, but wanted to stay in the town center. Good decision; bus stops for busses to the uni are just a three minutes' walk away from the hotel. Room was on the small side, but since I was alone, it was absolutely sufficient. Everything clean, bed very comfortable. Since the window faced a rather busy street, complimentary ear-plugs were provided; I didn't use them - when I'm sleeping, I'm dead to the world - but if you are a light sleeper, you might need them. I was surprised by the large breakfast selection; I had full English breakfast on both mornings, and I really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a very nice stay at North Hill, and I will definitely stay there again, when I return to Colchester.
