Es war ein Besuch von Freunden in Bicester. Gute Lage des Hotels war sehr vorteilhaft. Die AtmosphƤre war so, wie wir uns ein englisches Pub vorstellen. Wir waren rundum zufrieden.

It's expensive in comparison to other local places to stay. They took a Ā£50 "deposit" supposedly for the mini bar claiming it will only be charged if the minibar is used. But, unlike other hotels who don't process the payment, it has been charged even though the mini bar wasn't used. Unlike other places I've stayed, no reply so far to my message asking where my refund is. ;(

There is no concept of customer service. No toilet paper in the room. No way to get any. Promised ā€œ breakfast boxā€ never appeared. Two ā€œ emergency contact ā€œ numbers went unanswered. Worst customer service Iā€™ve ever experienced. DO NOT STAY HERE

On arrival I was told that the kitchen wasn't open that night and I could get something to eat locally, I asked for a VAT receipt and was told I'd get that in the morning. I went doen for breakfast (which I'd paid for) in the morning, to find that everywhere was locked up. I tried again later and it was still locked up. I tried again at 8:30 and a couple of guys were there and they told me that they only open at 10am, despite their website saying that they open at 7am. I was working and needed to be on site, nearby for 9am so I left. I received an emailed receipt later in the day, the rate included breakfast! The internet didn't work, there was no kettle in the room (there was a coffee machine) and you had to move furniture to get to a plug point to charge your phone etc.

Check in. Friendly although undertrained girl who informed me breakfast served up to 8:45am. Iā€™d booked through hotels.com and booking stated including breakfast. Room. Very small. But not too bad. Evening meal. Waited around to be seated quite a while but eventually got table (place wasnā€™t busy). First girl from reception came over to table and said she had forgotten to take Ā£50 deposit against damage. Never like if when asked for this sort of thing, but maybe thatā€™s just me. Meal was good. Next morning came down to go for breakfast around 7:45. Whole place locked up and no staff at all on premises. Went back to room and worked for an hour. Came back down 8:45am. In case the girl had said started 8:45 (which would be unusual, but could happen I suppose). Still no one around. Left as I had meeting to go to. Came back about 11:30 as Iā€™d dopily left my phone in room šŸ™„ There was a staff member there having a smoke and tea and after I got my phone I said to her that Iā€™d tried to get my breakfast. She said ā€˜oh they donā€™t do breakfast any more.ā€™ She was nice enough but wasnā€™t bothered really. No hint of a ā€˜sorryā€™ I try to go to establishments that arenā€™t your standard Premier Inn or Holiday Inn, but sometimes you wonder why you bother. Avoid.

It's a great little country pub. The welcome was warm, and the breakfast was very good. My room was ok (room 5 first floor), the ensuite is small (a larger person would not fit). The bed was creaky and uncomfortable and the noise from the bar is very loud.

Room was very tired, tried to be shabby chic, just shabby. When booking the free breakfast was a draw, it turned out to be in a cardboard box in the room, we turned it down. The room was clean and the staff were nice. Not worth the money by a long stretch.

I booked the small room and was surprised how spacious and comfortable it is. Itā€™s a very old building, room is well appointed and incredibly comfortable. Breakfast delivered to room each morning was convenient and delicious.

Great location for Bicester Village. Extremely short walk from train station. Room clean and incredibly comfortable. Check in is at the bar and it was no problem, staff v helpful.

Paid for breakfast, expecting a choice, only to find they only offer cooked breakfasts 3 days per week so we had to have "continental" (as we'd paid for breakfast we were told we might as well have it!). Room wasn't clean, an old plaster stuck to the door inside the en suite. Bed was terrible, mattress was like sleeping on springs. Left over breakfast not collected, room not cleaned. Not worth anything like the Ā£95 per night we paid!

The Plough has new management, it is ā€˜ tiredā€™ but a staff member told us it was going to be renovated. It was super convenient for our needs on this trip. The staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was included and a few options were offered.
