Most disappointing hotel-experience in years! This started already some days before our arrival: I booked and got a confirmation for check-in at 3pm. The hotel contacted me via mail: "check-in after 5pm. We will store your luggage." That was no option, if travelling with an infant. My email asking for check-in at 3pm never (!) got a response. Clarification via phone nearly failed, since the lady at the reception needed 15 mins to confirm, that I have a booking at all! Upon arrival parking situation was a mess. The parking lot is more than 500 meters away ... quite far, if you have to carry luggage for 2 adults and an infant. The room was not prepared. Although we booked a family room and included information about our kid's age (1 year old), there were 2 double beds prepared, NO baby bed. In the evening, we were glad, that our baby slept peacefully ... babyphone was working nicely via WLAN ... but the hotel bar did not offer us a drink ... nothing at all! Because we did not make a reservation some days in advance. The restaurant had free tables ... but did not accept us as well: "Only if you go for the 5-course menue." Returning to the hotel room, the key card did not work anymore. The receptionist took ages to get it fixed ... that was hard to stand, knowing, that our baby is locked in. Overall we had the impression, that it was the lacking competency of the staff that made this hotel (otherwise in good condition) become a never-again experience.
