My wife and I stayed at this Hotel back in September, when the weather was sunny but not too hot (perfect for us). We only stayed for a couple of days but our visit had been for longer. The resort is located in one of the most lovely settings imaginable. It's on the banks of a beautiful lake and as the name suggests is beside a very picturesque Golf course. It's location is also quite convenient for the East Gate of Algonquin park and other attractions in the area (eg. Bonnechere Caves). Barry's Bay village is only a few minutes' drive away.
The owners of the resort are also the owners of the golf course. The resort has only three rooms all as part of one building (like a log cabin). Our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was simple (Bacon and eggs, toast, coffee, orange juice), but was ideal for our needs. Elaine, the lady of the house was very nice and really helpful.
I'm a golfer but I didn't play the course. However, I got up early one morning to walk it. It really is one of the most scenic I've seen, and is a very difficult test. Bring plenty of golf balls.
Our room was clean and comfortable with a great view over the lake. WiFI was included. Again, perfect for our needs.
I would definitely recommend this hotel. It's great value for the price.
