The location on Longbeach is absolutely stunning: you are literally staying on the beach, in a quiet, leafy spot tucked away from the noise of Tonsai village. All you can hear at night are frogs, crickets and the occasional boat passing by. The restaurant by the beach is great as well, really tasty food and reasonably priced. Really good breakfast buffet. Reception staff really friendly and helpful, they can organise any excursion or transfer for you - although you can usually get it cheaper outside the hotel. Restaurant staff not so friendly, but efficient - I think most of them simply couldn't speak much English. The bungalows themselves need a serious refresh, as do the bathrooms: they do not match the price you pay for a night (bathroom a bit grubby, torn sheets, TV remotes not working), but it's pretty clean and you are clearly paying for the location anyway, which makes it 100% worth the price. Wifi works on and off, which is better than originally expected - staff warned us it only worked in the lobby, but we actually had better reception in the room. Loads of TV channels in different languages, including films in English. A gesture we particularly appreciated: the hotel sends a longtail boat to fetch you from the ferry pier for free when you arrive on the island and they take you back there for free at the end.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Paradise Pearl Bungalows and would definitely recommend it for its stunning location.
