Positives:
Cozy cabin with easy self check-in.
Beautiful views and a peaceful setting in good weather.
Spacious interior and a good-sized TV (which covers a fireplace — not listed as an amenity, but would be a nice plus if functional).
Clean overall and thoughtfully stocked with a snack basket.
Kitchen notes:
Stove, oven, and dishwasher are very old but functional.
Cookware is very worn; only one pot was really usable. We were fortunate to have brought our own Instant Pot.
Some cabinets were locked, so some basic utensils (e.g., a pasta strainer) may exist but were not accessible.
Negatives:
The cabin sits in a low-lying area surrounded by water channels and can effectively become an “island” during heavy rain.
After heavy rain followed by sunshine, water levels rose extremely fast; within minutes the driveway turned into a stream and the house was surrounded by water.
For safety reasons, we chose to leave early.
There was a significant leak from the upstairs bathroom ceiling with loud, constant dripping, and another leak at the base of the downstairs toilet.
Lack of follow-through:
The manager initially proposed refunding the last night (minus fees) and requested our Zelle information.
We provided our Zelle details, including a scannable code.
The reimbursement was sent to a different Zelle account, not the one we provided.
After this error, both the owner and the manager stopped responding, and the issue was never resolved.
