1. Rubbish in the car park, and a locked front door greeted our arrival. We found the open back door, where we went up a broken step, found a bucket of dirty water and a mop, and a permanently switched on TV inside.
2. There was no-one in the pokey little hole of a reception - just confusing written instructions and a telephone number which we had to ring to find out how to get into the hotel and to our room. The Indian person at the other end of the line told us in bad English that he was an hour away and would be present at the hotel the following morning. He wasn't.
3. Our room was dirty, shabby and the bed had bed bugs. We slept on top of the bed cover.
3. There was a hole in the toilet cistern in the bathroom.
4. There was a filthy toilet mat and a broken lamp in the cupboard under the bedroom basin.
5. There was no light bulb in one of the bed-side lamps, but plenty of cigarette stubs outside the window on the roof.
6. There was no way to turn off the light in the bathroom, and a written threat to charge extra fees for guests who didn't turn off all the lights on leaving. We unscrewed the bulb in the bathroom ;)
7. On leaving the next morning, (a hot day) we found that a radiator on one of the hall floors was turned full on to very hot, in the middle of summer.
8. Extra charges are made for parking in the hotel's car park, and if your car has a bigger engine, you get charged more for the privilege of parking there. So we parked on the road.
