2/10 â Mangelhaft
3. Aug. 2025
I could not use this booking at all. Due to a 21-hour layover on our flight, we booked an overnight stay. We arrived at 10 PM, but the address listed in the booking did not exist. We searched for it in the dark, frightening night, but many locals told us that many people often ask about that place, and it does not exist.
The photos and the address were completely different. We went to the address shown in the photos, knocked on the door, and a resident came out and told us it was not a hotel, but their private home. Clearly, the location shown in the photos was not the actual address provided.
From 10 PM until 4 AM, we wandered around searching for a hotel. Because it was Saturday night, every hotel was sold out, and finding accommodation in Manhattan was extremely difficult. We ended up paying for a hotel called âLittle Manhattanâ that does not even exist. We could not find a place to stay, and we could not sleep. We finally found a hotel at 4 AM.
Since it was so late, we could not buy a SIM card, and our phones did not work. This is the first time I have experienced such an infuriating and absurd scam. This was my first visit to New York, and I cannot understand Expediaâs handling of this matter.
I strongly believe I should receive not only a refund but also compensation for the extreme hardship and distress the three of us sufferedâbeing stranded in unsafe streets for more than five hours without rest.
