My recent stay at Cloud 9 in Cypress was extremely disappointing and far below basic standards of cleanliness and maintenance. The room appeared neglected and unsanitary from the moment I arrived.
The upholstered chair was torn open, exposing deteriorating foam and debris. The room did not appear to have been properly vacuumed. Throughout the room there was visible dirt and grime on the walls, light switches, and door handles. I was grateful I had disinfectant wipes with me because I had to sanitize many surfaces before touching them.
The bathroom was in worse condition. The bathtub had visible grime and residue, and the drain did not function properly. Water pooled in the tub and would not drain, leaving a dirty ring of standing water. Even standing on the bath mat would have meant standing in contaminated water. Because of this, I had to attend an important meeting without showering.
Other basic issues compounded the problem. The microwave was visibly dirty, and the lamp next to the bed did not even have a light bulb installed. To make matters worse, construction in the adjacent room began around 7:30 a.m., creating loud noise early in the morning with no prior warning.
Guests should expect a clean, functional room with basic amenities working properly. Unfortunately, that standard was not met here.
