Best of the coast
If you are drawn to the charm of the region, you may also be looking for a charming, well appointed boutique hotel - this one should be on your radar. We stayed two nights, avoided the day-trippers in Lissabon. Mr Yara welcomed us quite late: how unique to have a warm welcome and rooming instead of a pin-key box. The garden out front is lovely for an afternoon retreat, and of course their a la breakfast. Cinnamon turns up In the cappuccinos, granola bowl, pumpkin marmalade - then we are reminded Portugal was once the king of the high seas and spice trade. Yes, we also carefully laid out a few hand picked restaurants… at at the same time slowly discovered the compact seaside town, always just a short step from the hotel. Truly picturesque, and the inspired renovations hint at a generous investor. The light breeze between the palms, the fireplace burning in the morning - truly lovely that the charm of Cascais has a home. Room: yes, correctly no TV, but a lovely bed, amenities, mini bar. Breakfast is smart and organic: plan a few moments more as all is made by hand… including that avacado smash you’ve so been waiting for. Gonçalo & team, thank you for making this stay special.
