The stay at the Alexandra hotel was a complete disappointment. Despite it being a high rated all inclusive resort, it felt more like a motel. The only saving grace was access to their sister property, Blue Haven where the food was better, the staff amazing and the exterior facilities meticulously clean.
Our stay began with a leak over where we were sitting while waiting in reception. This, I took as a random incident but in hindsight, set the tone for the property. From dirty hallways to staff that never re-appeared when asked for something basic like a latte or a drink menu, it did not get better. The peak of this experience had to be the cockroaches in our room and the lack of urgency or attention by staff to remedy. We waited to complain until we saw our second the following afternoon only to be told that while they were not at capacity they couldn't move us until the next day. At some point that same morning, cleaning staff took our old towels but didn't replace them explaining that another team would come by an hour later to bring new ones. We left to their sister property out of frustration (unshowered by the way) but were there new towels in our old room upon return? No. I could go on with additional examples of the lack of care and detail at this hotel but the Expedia character limit doesn't seem to allow me to fit it all. All I will end with is: choose another hotel. I'm still in disbelief at how poorly this place is run.
