Not happy with hotel cancelltion
I booked a two night stay for my employee & his family because of work training in the area. Upon arrival in the evening, they were told that the hotel overbooked and the room was cancelled two days ago even though it was prepaid for 1+ months earlier. However, I was never informed of the cancellation. He was able to stay for one night and had to use his own form of payment but then had to find another place to stay. After 3 attempts to call Hotels.com and then being on the phone for 1 hour and 26 minutes, we were finally able to book my employee in a hotel 2 miles away. However, the hassle was not acceptable. He had to check out of one hotel with his wife and baby and then check into a new hotel while at training. Not sure how The Courtyard got away with this and not sure why hotels.com was never informed. I've never had this happen before but now has scared me a little to book a room. Thankfully the woman at hotels.com was very, very nice and helpful but the situation was very stressful.
