Terrible area. We could see junkies smoking crack on the street mid afternoon.
Our room stinked old humidity and sewers, they try to cover it with cheap air freshener but it just makes it worse.
The hotel is on top of a restaurant that turns into a disco, it was as if I was sleeping on speakers. I could not sleep at all, had to be moved to the higher floors at midnight so I could get a few hours of sleep.
Once on the higher floor, the room we had was smelling ok and we could finally sleep, but the experience was ruined nonetheless. The staff was accomodating in trying to find a solution and other than the smell, the rooms are clean, that's the only positive from our stay.
Don't get fooled by the photoshopped pictures and the star ratings, pay 100$ more and go to much nicer offerings in Vancouver.
