Would have been 5 stars, due to several small, but important, things:
- Three available outlets for ‘phone charging. Many hotels have none - an appliance needs to be disconnected to charge your ‘phone.
- Roominess. Many hotels feel crammed with no place to put one’s shoes or suitcases. Not this place.
- Breakfast with fresh fruit, real cheese and butter, actual bacon and decent sausages. Many hotels have frozen mush that is hard to look at, let alone palate.
Unfortunately, I cut one star for each of the following:
- The hotel charges $100 on the credit card in addition to the billed amount, and claims it will refund it in 4-6 weeks. This requires the customer to monitor the credit card account to ensure the refund is processed. Furthermore, it is like an unauthorized, involuntary loan from the customer to the hotel company, free of interest, for up to 6 weeks. Hotels.com should specify that the hotel will collect that amount upon checkin.
- The hotel gave a room to an aggressive, and mentally challenged man, likely in his 30s, who intruded upon people asking to read from religious material.
