This is a hotel that has its history and does not hide it - its charme actually comes from the mix of 1890s, 1920s, 1980s and whatever other epoch contributed to the building and its furniture. Built a long time ago, renovated at some point in the last 30 years, it offers all comfort one needs for a stay in Baltimore (clean and spatious beds, A/C, safety, location close to center) but could for sure benefit from some further renovation, in particular with respect to the walls and the carpet. Staff is nice but they have to improve on room cleaning (sheets changed once in a while, trash emptied every now and then...). Breakfast is coffee and granola bars, so don't count on that (although they don't advertise breakfast, so it's OK). No elevator, which sounds fine when booking but can be a challenge with full luggage at arrival.
