Acapulco Botanical Garden may be one of the most classically romantic sites you can visit in Acapulco, with acres of tropical oasis nestled in the Sierra Madre Mountains. This garden is intricately tended and cared for, and as you wind your way through the walking paths, you'll see water features, rock sculptures, and tonnes of plants in every size and colour, from exotic flowers to lush ferns to rare and endangered hardwood trees. The park is noted, in fact, for its seriously endangered Peltogryne Mexicana, or purpleheart, trees.

The park is only 10 minutes away from city centre Acapulco but seems like a whole separate world. Be aware that there aren't any restaurants in the garden, so bring a snack.
