Joy restaurant is an intimate 10-seat fine dining restaurant in Fortitude Valley, and it’s probably unlike any other restaurant you’ve ever been to. Guests eat side by side at a long counter and won’t find any menus at Joy, as it is inspired by omakase-style dining ('I leave it up to you'). You might eat seared scallops with corn milk, sour pumpkin and kaffir lime, or corn and smoked caviar chawanmushi. Whatever it is, it’s almost certain to be delicious.
Reservations at Joy are notoriously tough to score; they book 4 months ahead and spots are released on the first of the month. Follow their Instagram account to try and secure a cancellation.
