Oneroa

Oneroa village sits above a stunning beach where coastal walkways serve up jaw-dropping views of sparkling blue water. Art lovers can wander through weathered wooden galleries showcasing local talent while wine enthusiasts find themselves just steps from vineyards. The golden sand beach stretches below clifftop cafes where afternoon sun catches in wine glasses and the gentle curve of the main street leads to boutique shops selling island-made treasures. Casual beachfront cafes and upscale restaurants spotlight fresh seafood paired with Waiheke's famous wines. Most visitors get around by rental cars or bikes since the village center is compact but hilly. Accommodation ranges from charming beachfront B&Bs to luxury holiday rentals with sweeping bay views.

Onetangi

Omiha

Rocky Bay's secluded shores and coastal walks are a breath of fresh air for nature lovers seeking quiet island time. The peaceful beaches invite swimming and snorkeling, while nearby Mt William Walkway rewards hikers with stunning Hauraki Gulf panoramas. This residential haven on Waiheke Island feels worlds away from Auckland's bustle, with native pohutukawa trees framing perfect sunset views. "Sadly this was not the right accomodation for us. Stunning views but out a bit of the way so you’ll be travelling to and from a bit if you want to go out and do stuff, on gravel road etc. For us, the apartment did not feel super cosy or comfy and the furnishings weren’t as premium as expected based on the reviews. It was also quite shady inside - these were the things we were looking for in our weekend away. Beautiful spot, secluded and quiet and the outdoor bath was a lovely extra. "

Hidden Valley Waiheke

10/10 Excellent
"Hidden Valley Waiheke was a highlight of our trip. The setting feels private and immersed in nature, yet still thoughtfully designed and incredibly comfortable. It feels intentional rather than styled, calm rather than performative. The host communication was excellent. Clear instructions regarding access, proactive guidance about the steep driveway (with helpful tips), and responsive email communication made arrival seamless and expectations well managed. Waking up to valley views and birdsong felt like a genuine reset. A rare, beautifully resolved retreat on Waiheke. Highly recommend."
