We had a lovely stay at the Harmony Country Lodge. Tony was on hand to check us in and answer any queries we had. The room we stayed in was lovely and perfect for us as a family of 3 and a bonus that it was a pet friendly room. Breakfast was outstanding every morning, freshly made. The view from the property is amazing with a view of the sea and Scarborough Castle.

Bed: Comfortable Breakfast: Good Free Parking provided Wi-Fi provided free and worked well from our room Gardens neat and tidy Shower room Health and safety lacking, patches of black mould in shower cubical and dark rings around the base of the basin taps. Shower cubical accessed by climbing onto a deep box type step and then stepping up again onto the shower tray. No none slip shower mat provided. Small glass shelf over the basin no place to put toiletries whilst brushing teeth Bedroom The size of the room limited the provision of bedside tables Room overcrowded with furniture very little place for luggage The element in the kettle appeared to be corroding

The pots of milk in the room were 4 months out of date so obviously were off. The owner said sorry when we handed the milks back but didn’t look surprised at all! The shower, despite being electric wouldn’t warm the water so we couldn’t have a shower and even if we could have had a shower we only had one bath towel. The owner put the ‘poor water pressure’ down to water works nearby but the water pressure wasn’t the issue it was just freezing cold water. The electric went off as soon as it was switched on. Also be aware, there are a lot of cats which frequent the dining area which set off my allergy and made me sneeze and my eyes water and itch but this could be a major issue if you have asthma etc! Not what we would have expected for a £99 stay. Extremely disappointed. We’ve stayed in dozens of hotels through Hotels.com and this is the first time we’ve felt the need to complain and warn others about a place.
