Pleasant one night stay. Staff very friendly and accommodating, especially as it said there was room service when I booked (which was a deciding factor for booking it), but when I arrived they said that was wrong - however they did agree to still bring me something for my evening meal and kindly brought it to my room well wrapped in foil to keep it hot, I had the fish and chips and it was very tasty. The room was homely and very spacious, decor a little tired in places but clean and tidy and it had everything I needed, I was especially grateful for the adjustable mirror for doing your makeup. Breakfast was a little disappointing, I decided against having the cheaper continental option and chose the pancakes with fruit compote, yoghurt and maple syrup from the section of the menu where the full English and eggs Benedict were, all priced at £12.50. However when I ordered they said the pancakes were self service and so I ended up heating them myself and there was limited compote and no maple syrup and so a bit disappointed to have to prepare it myself and still have to pay £12.50 when I expected it to be freshly made and prepared by the kitchen for that price. I would still recommend the hotel as it had many good points but just bear in mind the lack of room service and make a good menu choice for breakfast, I should have gone for the full English 😊
