This is a clean, comfortable property in an excellent location to the jetty. It has good amenities, with a nice shower. The property was a little worn and a refrigerator would have been really nice. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. We would stay here again.
Great location. Road is closed off for night market on Friday and Saturday, not many foods trucks or stalls to warrant the length of street for the weekly closure. Noise was a bit of a problem at night with the buskers even after reading the reviews before booking. We heeded the warning to choose a room in the back which had no windows and cheaper than a room with a window facing Gaya Street and less noisy comparatively. Music is gone by 11pm. Can’t hear the noise from Sunday morning Gaya market every week where you literally step into it from the hotel entrance. Staff are friendly. Small room. Not enough room for luggage. Still needed to walk around luggage when we finally figured out the most strategic way to place them. Most times after housekeeping there would be something missing so we’d have to call for it. Bathroom shower water was leaking out of the stall so the mat was always wet before we got out of the shower. Cheap quality toilet paper was used. Water, coffee and tea were provided. They didn’t ask if we wanted water when we didn’t housekeep. This hotel only has 18 rooms in it. You’d think they’d have more concern for their guests. Bedsheets had some yellow stains. Towels were worn with the hotel name labelled in permanent marker. Needed to keep going to the reception to have our room card refreshed. In general, convenient location right downtown, friendly staff, get what you pay for budget 2.5*
Hotel Gaia 95 is in a great location, the room was clean and with all the commodities needed. Will definitely stay there again.
Right in the middle of Gaya Street (Chinatown). Amenities filled.
Clean, close, gaya street, however it will be noisy till 11pm as songs just right the corner. If u are ok with the sounds till 11, then it is great location
Location is fantastic. Stayed for three days. My room (305) on first day is filled with cigarette smell although it’s labelled as non smoking. Got rectified after a while. Second and third day, there was very bad odour (smell like rotting smell) which staff only came to spray freshener. Didn’t help long term so I had to open up the window of the room all day for better air circulation. Probably would not come back.
Friendly and helpful staff. Room in excellent condition, clean, functional, no unnecessary clutter. Perfect for one or two travelers. The only downside: an extremely loud concert on Saturday evening. I was tired from climbing Mt. Kinabalu and badly needed a rest. The location was otherwise very convenient, with a market taking place on Sunday morning.
Great stay! The room was very clean, the ACU was very cold, the area was very accessible in terms of food and necessities. Would definitely consider staying here again in the future!
good location , but u can hear the loud music from Friday night market. had a funny smell in the room ( although my hubby didn't notice). the mattress was also on the soft size. So wasn't a good sleep for me. Still good value for money I think if you don't mind the above.
Spacious enough for two in a clean and comfotable room as shown in their website. Though there is outside noise in the street as our room has window, it is tolerable. This is one budget hotel you don't hear the passing noise of the plane. Good wifi which is essential these days for surfing and communication. Very friendly and helpful staff who assisted us in booking for a local tour and providing general information about Sabah, so much so that we even engaged into social communication. Location is convenient within walking distance to shoppings and to all kind of eateries in town centre and even to the bars/restaurants/markets at the waterfront. Grab is the cheap way of transport in town and to nearby tourist places of interest like Tanjong Aru. Highly recommended budget hotel in the town centre.
