Amazing three days, right in the middle of the Mayan cultural heritage area. Beautifully sited property with a wonderful pool and great dining options. We REALLY enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to all.
The staff at Cassia Hill were wonderfully helpful! Our group ranged in age from 11 to 69 and they were able to assist all of us with activities. Our two cabanas were perfect for our group and they were very clean and had a good climate system (a/c and windows). The location is great too—a short drive into town. I would highly recommend Cassia Hill to anyone staying in San Ignacio.
Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. The rooms were adequate but lacked places to put clothes and suitcases. Beds weren’t comfortable. Picture of pool misleading and not enough chairs around it. Food was mediocre at best. Suites lacked proper sound proofing. Location was good in relation to town and nearby tourist sites.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Close to local ruins.
The standard rooms are a bust..have not been updated in quite some time. The pics online are beyond deceiving. As soon as we checked in, the woman at the front desk said "I'm not sure if you will like your room" and we felt doomed from that point. The standard room was in a concrete simple style bungalow, with low lighting, an old a/c and nothing updated most likely since the early 90s. After maybe 10 min, she offered the cabin, which was several notches up, but nothing to write home about. This was literally just a place to lay my head and we were out the next morning. If you can afford to stay another place down the road for a few more dollars, DO SO! But the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating
The location of this property was great if you're visiting San Ignacio, its just a few minutes outside the city center. We booked this hotel for the adventure portion of our vacation and we were happy with our stay. Our room was very large and the beds were comfortable. AC worked very well which was very important to us as we are not used to the extreme heat. Wifi and TV (HBO & cable)was also great. Our bathroom was clean but dated and could have used some upgrades. It looked like many of the other cabins have had some upgrades though and the bathrooms in the restaurant were very new and beautiful so maybe our room is still a work in progress. Overall we were very pleased with the hotel and the room. The bartender Rene was amazing and super friendly. He made some great drinks and recommended a lot of great places to eat in town. Was nice to learn about Belize from a local's perspective and he was happy to chat with us and answer any questions. The food as the resort was also good, we ate breakfast here every day since it was super convenient for us getting on the road early, and we at dinner here once and it was very good. Prices are very reasonable and you can charge everything to your room so no need to carry extra cash. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to be close to the Mayan ruins/San Ignacio City/Cave Tours etc. Would not really recommend if you're looking for a beach resort, you'd be better off on one of the Cayes.
The bar staff were very friendly. We were upset however because the main reason we booked the hotel was for the pool table and ping pong table which were advertised on Expedia however on or arrival neither table was there and apparently had not been there for a while.
Cassia had a lot of potential- it's in a good location and the staff were very helpful and friendly. However, the rooms, beds, bedding and shower are very dated and this information was not conveyed in the photos available online.
I cannot say enough great things about Cassia Hills Resort. The grounds were beautiful and spacious and each area provided some privacy for the guests. They had a relaxing pool to cool off in right in the center of the hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious and the beds were comfy, with a hammock hanging outside each room. There was even a little playground area for kids. By far the best reason to stay at this location was the staff. They went above and beyond in every way while we were staying there. They gave excellent recommendations were both San Ignacio and our second city, San Pedro. They helped us set up tours and rides during our entire stay. We loved chatting with the staff, they absolutely made this stay unforgettable.
The new units are beautiful and comfortable. The staff was wonderful. The pool and restaurant were great.
