Place was lovely and the staff very friendly, the fact that the place is a real kasbah made it special. Only two comments, dinner price was not clear and the day after we were charged more than what was told the day before, it was also more expensive than when eating at a normal restaurant. The other point is that there was not really parking at the site, but we had to leave the car far away and bring our bags, it is not a deal breaker but definitely wasn’t expected.
I stayed at the hostel from the 11th to the 13th February 2019. So that is 2 nights and 2 days roughly. The place is supposed to be in Ouarzazate, however is in the middle of nowhere, and at least 2 km from any shop or amenities in a bleak neighbourhood that was, quite frankly, depressing. The kitchen in this place managed by this lady was locked up at all times unless she was in the house, not often as she works, but she did open it if you asked her in advance. In any case not a v convenient circumstance. The wi-fi only worked apparently on the ground floor where she has her private quarters and in the locked up kitchen. So unless you were willing to sit on the freezing floor of the ground floor, you could not access this so-called wi-fi. The 'hot' water from the shower was lukewarm at best. Not very nice in this freezing house. Finally, the breakfast was like a 2, being 10 excellent. You can get the idea. If you are a masochist and want a really unpleasant time in Ourzazate, come to this place. You will feel at home.
The location is amazing and beautiful. We were lucky to have this place to ourselves for 1 night as there were no other guests until our 2nd night. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique experience. We had a delicious dinner when we arrived. The room itself had a beautiful view of ait ben haddou. It was clean and comfortable. The 2 minor issues we had was that the bed was hard, but this is typical of Morocco. Then we didn't have a hot shower. For my husband and I it's not a big issue as we are use to traveling in Morocco. I brought some dry shampoo and we were able to freshen up. With the wind it would have been nice to take a hot shower. And this is really the only reason I didn't list a perfect score. Also the staff was friendly and always taking care of the place.
Nice place in an amazing location and friendly staff. However, the room was very basic and the bathroom a bit rundown. We had dinner at their restaurant, but the lack of atmosphere and the average food made the experience not so enjoyable. It was nice to eat in a cave, though. There is a lovely terrace from where the most amazing sky can be seen.
Wonderfully nice family and an excellent price to stay right inside the Medina os Ait Benhaddou. Supper was also awesome.
Excellent service beautiful place
Great place to stay and excellent staff paddy and noreen
My husband and I stayed here for one night to break up the long drive from Merzouga to Marrakesh. We had no expectations as it was just meant to be a quick stop, but we were so taken by this great little place that I wish I could have stayed longer! (read: I actually begged my hubby, but our stay in Marrakesh was booked and non-refundable). The hosts are meant to be curteous and accomodating, and the host here was no exception! He met us and guided us to the riad, and always had a smile on his face. We booked the room with the private balcony and valley view, and it was amazing. This is a no frills kind of place, but had just the right amenities. We watched the sunset from the top of the medina, and the sunrise from our balcony. Ait Benhaddou is quiet because there are no scooters or cars in the medina! So, the riad is quiet as well, and I was just in heaven here. We had dinner and breakfast here, and enjoyed our evening mint tea on our balcony. The only con is that the wifi router is on the terrasse and is hard to connect when you're in your room, but that is hardly a problem. We learned the riad was previously a berber house, which helps explain the very cool layout. It is so picturesque! Zero complaints, and was happy to stumble across this gem. Would gladly return!
We had a 2 nights stay at this amazing place. The location is superb with breathtaking panoramic views. Rachid is so delightfully welcoming and helpful. He and his staff, especially Abdul made our time here even more special. A wonderful experience.
Cadre magnifique mais attention petit dej facturé en plus et parking payant. Les infos hôtel. Com sont fausses. Mauvais WiFi et électricité aux panneaux solaires donc réduite. Personnel très agréable
