Knoll House Hotel is set in an amazing location over Studland Bay in Dorset.
The building itself is lovely but it clearly is tired and needs work done to it, especially the indoor pool and spa building - it feels very dated!
The room was fine, with a little desk and chair area, as was the bathroom, but the biggest complaint about the room was the bed! The mattress is SO hard and uncomfortable and seriously needs to be looked at; both my husband and I barely slept!!!!
The one thing we really did enjoy was our evening meal - we were well looked after by the Restaurant Manager, Alex and our waitress (I'm so sorry that I never got her name).
The food was very good indeed, especially the extra Yorkshire Pudding we ordered with extra gravy!!!!! However, we did have an issue with our puppy as she had to be left in our room and she hated it! When Alex informed us that she had been barking non-stop for over half an hour, my husband rushed upstairs to check on her. We were only just finishing our main course, so Alex suggested that we could have our dessert and coffees in the Lounge area, not normally meant for eating. It was very kind of Alex to make that suggestion and help us out - we were most grateful to her as we were able to bring our puppy downstairs and calm her down. That is great service - thank you Alex!
