SmartRental Puerta del Sol

The perk of this place is having a whole apartment, and it's location. This is steps away from the Mercado de San Miguel and about a 3-5 minute walk to Plaza Mayor. There is no onsite service. Instead you will receive instructions to the hotel via Whats App. We made no complaint to them, but our unit really could have used a good deep cleaning, and it's furniture had seen better days. (Dirty rug, saggy couch, and bed, torn comforter) Shower water pressure was good, but it appeared that our hot water ability was being rationed by stopping how far you could turn the knob. We were tourist though so we did not spend much time in the apartment. As tourists though welcome brochures about the city, a check in or something kind of personal touch would have been nice. Someone will however knock on the door 15 minutes after check out time to take the keys from you. Great location for it's price. Tip: Use the light switch in the entry way at night. You'll want it.

Location is very good as city center, metro buses are all in walking distance. Check-in took a bit longer as it was a bit tough to find the apartment, so there shall be some display as if anyone coming off-hours can get a bit hassled.

We were happy with the location, the apartment and its amenities. However, there is no receptionist so it takes some time to communicate with the owner to obtain keys and entrance code (especially after hours)

The room was tiny and the beds were hard. Not much of a hotel. For a night, it’s doable but not great for a family with kids. We would not stay here again although the location was good
