Embassy Suites by Hilton McAllen Convention Center

Great experience. Embassy is always a great hotel to stay At with family. Location is unbeatable!

We had such a great time, a little staycation for the kids and I. I felt assured knowing that everything was very clean and exactly to my liking. I would 10/10 recommend.

The staff are crooked as all get out. This place has extremely poor and lazy customer service, but the suite was nice and cleanliness was just ok. There were very faint stains they hadn't completely bleached out of some of the linens. There was also a mysterious $50 charge upon check-in that was simply explained as a "service fee". I did not check in early or anything, so when I pressed for an explanation I was redirected to "the manager" who was absent. Don't even bother calling to complain because they'll leave you on hold until you give up. I also tried extending my stay for an additional night and they had me make a separate reservation. This confused the front desk for a while and I had to call several times and appear downstairs twice before they "realized" what I was talking about. I got the impression they were trying to save the room for a friend or whatever and capitalize on me "missing" my reservation. The suites seem to be used all the time for parties by the locals. I suspect none of the employees here last very long. I don't blame the business, but the locals. That's why you all can't have nice things, and this is a pretty basic hotel at that.

Everything was the best. .. from afternoon free cocktail, complimentary cooked to order breakfast sit down breakfasts, to courteous front desk staff to cook and concierge at coffee shop, bar tender, all top class. Room was beyond clean. I tipped everybody and thank them for trying to work hard to make a living. BTW, thanks for giving us a room on top floor overlooking the Xmas Light Show in convention cneter lake

We booked a king size 1 bedroom suite. Pluses: Spacious lobby. Interesting live ivy wall. In the suite the Living Room size was small but comfortable. Airy, sunny rooms. Spacious bathroom and shower with glass doors. Asked for late checkout and were given until noon. (1 extra hour). Minuses: Very small bedroom. Lacked luggage rack. Very small closet. No storage. Bugs in shower.Sink faucet leaked. Mini kitchen has no cooking range. Extremely soft mattress gave us a backache. Skimpy toiletries. Very thin walls. Food: Afternoon reception- Tiny clump of pretzels & Very cheap wine/beer. Breakfast-> Extremely disorganized and slow. Long, slow line just to get eggs. Juices watered down and LOADED with added sugar. Ran out of bacon, sausage and pastries by 9 am ( hotel looked quite empty). Toaster set so low had to run bread through it 3 times to make it warm. (Forget toasted!).

Room was very clean, bed was so comfortable, staff very friendly and breakfast was great! We will for sure stay there again!!

I’ve pretty much stayed in all the hotels in McAllen and this Hass to be the top choice for me it’s just beautiful the location is beautiful everything you need is close by just the hotel itself is so amazing
