The Citadel by Pillow

Noisy neighbors until late at night (you hear every conversation) and from the early morning hours the talks of nearby reception won't let you sleep. Room had a strong cigarette smell, although the receptionist explained this was the normal smell of the room... Room change was declined as hotel was said to be booked out. The plus of this hotel is the excellent location.

When I booked the double room through Hotek.com I made sure I chose TWO SEPARATE BEDS, but when I arrived at destination for my surprise it was one bed only. I complained as I paid for a differente type of room but did not get it. I was told that this is an error of tge agency I booked with, as they (the hotel) never confirm the number of beds, they just decide for you. The hotel appears on the web as a e star hotel, but there are 2 srar hotels better than this and cheaper. I woukd recomend to sear other hotels better located, nicers, where you get what you oay for, and if any errors thet may di something to resolve, and I'm sure i'll cost much less in low season as winter when I booked.

Really friendly and helpful staff, great location...unfortunately that's about it when it comes to positives. It's advertised as a 3* hotel where in fact it's a hostel! We didn't have hot water for 3 days as we got one of the 2 rooms where the water is supplied by a hot water tank (enough for a 5min shower for 1 person). Definitely not a great value for the money we paid...

The staff (Elena) were extremely attentive to us and very nice. The hotel is located in a perfect spot to venture out to some of Madrid's top destination. Would definitely stay here again

Hard to find by taxi. No real reception or place to relax other than the quite small room. Shower had nice water pressure but would not have worked for overweight people.
