SACO Fleet Street - Crane Court

Ground floor apartment in quiet alley, until all the bars threw out their empty bottles

Unfortunately the stay started badly as we could not open the door to the apartment number 6, we had the key, but could not get it to work. We then had to wait for an hour until a lovely gentleman came to assist us. During the hour we had many attempts to open the door, using varying techniques from fully inserted key, to key slightly less inserted, pushing the door, pulling the door whilst turning the key etc etc. The efforts became more and more assertive. Eventually we were shown that the key requires turning slowly and smoothly and it will work. It did. However after returning from dinner we again struggled to open the door even though we knew the secret. We took a few attempts, slowly and smoothly turning a key that did not want to turn, when a key does not want to turn it's tricky to do it smoothly. The apartment overall has been beautifully done up, however the day to day upkeep of maintenance is poor. The showerhead had no way of clipping to the wall stand and so it was either on the floor or had to be held whilst showering. The 2 stainless steel pedal bins were really dented and had multiple 'stabs' to the tops and neither of the pedals worked. No milk was left, that makes for no yummy drinks and the muesli is a bit dry without. The room is very well decorated, the bathroom well presented and the location is fantastic for Fleet Street and St Paul's. Had the key worked well I feel our stay would have felt different.

The location of this apt is excellent. It is very central to most tourist attractions. It also was very clean. Although our stay was comfortable, the apt is small with minimum closet space and very basic kitchen amenities. The bed was comfortable but too small. It was a double bed according to North American standards and not a queen as it was advertised. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Easy to find nice area. I was running the London marathon and needed an earlier check in. Saco were easy to contact and arranged this for me. Nice size apartment , nice style would stay again

My one-night stay would have been better served in a hotel @ the same or lower cost. I never received any information about how to actually check in plus I wanted to drop my bag early since my international flight arrived at 7 & check in is 4. There was no phone number on my reservation to call and it took some hunting to find it. When I did, I discovered that it was not staffed. That made me think, how am I supposed to check in and gain access? Turns out there was supposed to be an email with codes for access, which I finally got them to send. Was on top floor - elevator only went from the ground to 4th floor. Lugging a large suitcase up narrow stairs was challenging. Couldn't adjust the shower water temp and the pressure was very poor. No conditioner was there.
