Le Meridien Saigon

Rather disappointing. Hotel room itself: bed is comfortable, view was great, but thats basically it with the positives. Mayn switches in the room but at times hard to see for what they are for, they work with kida signs rather than language description. Room wasn't properly cleaned so I cleaned it myself and turned on the no service needed sign as I really don't know how they clean and with what so I don't have to do it again. Breakfast I didn't try, because the table that was assigned was dirty, and the staff who accompanied me to the table either ignored the fact or didn't understand when I pointed it out. The next table she then offered was again dirty ( Bread + roll crumbles over the table + something I couldn't identify). If this happens twice and the place is not clean I wondered who the rest of the buffet is treated by the staff so I didn't dare to eat at all breakfast in the hotel. I went to the Caravelle Hotel which was amazing, larger and more people but all super clean and staff seemed to be very well trained. Lack of information between Management , Duty officer called and I told her I am buisy with meetings, maybe 20 - 25 mintes later F&B called . Faire enough they try to call and follow their procedure, but if you tell Management you are buisy , you communicate to other staff as well. Laundry lady ignored the do not disturb sign completele so was interupted with with phone conference again as she was very persistent until I opened the door. no space to write

Zimmer geräumig, sauber und ruhig. Ein sehr gutes Business Hotel auf hohem Niveau.

Das Hotel ist und liegt klasse und ist gut geeignet, um von dort auch zu Fuß die Stadt zu erkunden. Das Service Personal ist nett, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Nur beim Frühstück z.B. nicht immer treffsicher bei der Wahl der richtigen Tasse für "Latte Macchiato" - das war aber eine charmante, liebenswürdige Besonderheit, dass dieser in einer Teetasse serviert wurde und zum Schmunzeln Anlass gab. Die ausreichende Nähe und der genügende Abstand zum Flughafen ist auch von Vorteil - die Kosten mit dem Taxi betragen nur ca. 10% des vom Hotel angebotenen Transferpreises. Zum shoppen und zum Dinner gibt es vielfältig Auswahl in der Nähe und die Entspannung am pool rundet den Tag mit toller Aussicht ab.

We had an amazing stay at Le Meridien Saigon. The room is very spacious with nice view to the river and buildings. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The service overall is satisfactory. Highly recommended and we would stay here again next time.

First class treatment all the way to us. We are very happy that they managed to get a repair man to come and fix both of our suitcase wheels which broke while we are there for a reasonable sum. We would definitely stay there again when we visit Ho Chi Minh again.

Le Meridien Saigon is colorful, posh, and undeniably upscale. Everything you would imagine when it comes to post-modern minimalism. At times, the decor can seem too simple, reductionist in a sense (the night stand is basic end table with no shelving) but at least it is a consistent theme throughout the hotel. The location is not central. I knew this coming in from reading previous reviews, but when we got there, it was clear that the hotel was really "away" from the central District 1 area. The river is not much of a sight (it's swampy and industrial) and there is heavy construction happening on that side of town. Being at the riverfront means more traffic getting to the hotel. That said, if you want some privacy or would prefer not to be in the fray of Saigon. Breakfast buffet is delicious. Don't miss it. And don't forget to try their Vietnamese Coffee, good both iced and hot. Not sure why this wasn't mentioned in other reviews but the hotel is immediately next door to a Casino. Only non-Vietnamese citizens can gamble in Vietnam so if you want to hit the slots, bring your passport. The hotel room had some flaws (broken curtain), and the room we had was right next to the service elevator so there was some noise at night. The issue was addressed so it became a non-issue. Customer service was excellent, as expected. The takeaway is this: Le Meridien is an oasis away from the urban jungle. but if you want a central location, look somewhere else.
