Hotel Fleur d'Epée

My wife and I had an excellent experience with our stay at Hotel Fleur d'Epee. From check-in to check-out the staff were very courteous and helpful. The location of the hotel made it quite easy to get to from the airport and I felt it was centrally located so that I could get to the rest of the island easily. We had a rental car and drove all over. The island of Guadeloupe is beautiful. We had a very nice Sea View Room with patio that also had a small sofa and chair. The view of the beach and water was magnificent. The room was well maintained. We had not gone the all inclusive route and our stay only included the breakfast which was quite good and started our day out great. The breakfast buffet selection was extensive including meats, cheeses, vegetables, fresh cooked eggs, and a wide array of fruits and bread. There was actually a lot of other things but this is what I focused on. It is hard to describe but there were actually two benches. The beach on the right was magnificent, calm and very nice to swim in, The beach on the left, because of its particular angle to the sea was much rougher an I saw several people surfing on this side. The waves were not to big and this would be a great area for a beginner or the older surfer. As we checked out quite early, Fabien (who was fantastic) offered to get us some coffee and food for our trip the airport since we were leaving before the breakfast started. It is good to know a little French!

Their service is flexible and staff is nice. For my one day delay of arrival for flight delay, their response was perfect, and as kind support for breakfast for my early departure next morning was really appreciated. Breakfast starts 6:30 am it is so nice I experienced in my previous stay.

Donald at the front desk was nice and helpful. The rest of the staff was as lazy as you’d expect from island workers.

Loved the oceanfront restaruant, the ambiance, friendly staff, and beautiful view.

The hotel location and the views are pretty amazing. The interior of the hotel such as main areas and lobby are OK, breakfast was 3 out of 10. But the price wasnt bad and the people are really nice.. so hotel is a SOLID 3.. would stay again

I like the view, beach and pool. The exterior of the resort is really nice. I dislike the bedrooms. They are very small. The WiFi was terrible and weak during my entire trip. It only works at the lobby in one spot, if you are lucky. They did not have any adapters available for the outlets. Most is the staff was very nice and pleasant. The resort is mostly for an elderly crowd. If you are young. You will be bored. They do not have a club or lounge. The food at the buffet was very disgusting from breakfast to dinner. Luckily, they have a lot of restaurants outside the resort. It’s walking distance and cheaper than the buffet at the resort.

The Internet service was terrible. It was needed to leave the room and walk up and down to get reception.

The property is dated and in need of some maintenance in certain areas. However it is located on the beach with amenities (Jet skies, pool, table tennis, volleyball and an area to play boules/ petanque/ bocce) It is located within walking distance from restaurants (Aux Artistes Restaurant, a pizzeria and also a pharmacy. The property is 10- 15 minutes walk from a supermarket located within a mini mall.

We thought this property's architecture was dated. It was not easy communicating to staff due to the fact we don't speak French. The room was comfortable due to the air conditioning and loved the shower with choice of two heads. Pretty location right on water. Lovely view of tropical trees and bay from our room.
