Meson Panza Verde

Panza Verde is a very special boutique hotel on the edge of central Antigua. Each room is unique, and ours had a large terrace, wood burning fireplace, and awesome architecture. The room was a good size. The hotel looks like a restored ancient ruin but was actually built in the mid 80s. Our room included a free “continental” breakfast but was actually a full western breakfast which you could order off a menu, including omelettes and pancakes. We had dinner in the uber romantic restaurant one night which was delicious and reasonably priced. There was a live piano player. There is a leafy central courtyard and a rooftop terrace with awesome views of the volcano. The staff were all super nice and helpful.

Wonderful hotel! Amazing rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, good location. The only downside is the noise; the rooms are right by the open air restaurant and you can hear everything.

First of all staff was friendly and helpful, the room was perfect - the entire property was perfect. We enjoyed the breakfast, the location was great to get everywhere we needed to go.

Quiet location, short walk to the main centre, and very friendly staff.

We invited 2 more people for dinner becacuse every one was prising the food in this hotel. We ware very disappointed the stake was fully cooked but replaced I hade the house made ravioli with ricotta and the ricotta filling was hard and cold like it was weeks old. Breakfast was great.

Authentic and romantic hotel. Beautiful views from the rooftops. Our room had a terrace with a hammok, clean bathroom, comfy bed, fan, and fireplace. Wifi works great. Dinner is delicious, but on the pricey side. Nice options for breakfast. Restaurant can be dark, but the ambiance is peacful. Excellant location to walk to market.

We booked this hotel for two night, the first one we had a problem with our room, but the staff and manager went above and beyond to made our stay pleasant. I would go back and gladly recommend it

The hotel is in a central location with shops and restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast is wonderful and the staff does a great job at making you feel welcome. They speak with you about where you are from and are so accommodating and simply lovely.

Meson Panza Verde is a beautiful hotel as far as property goes. Unfortunately, the service was not good. Upon arrival we were greeted well. We checked in, arrived at our room and the room was very clean but extremely small for two people. The rooms are literally in the dining area. People are eating literally right outside of your room. We had lunch at the property and the food was good...however, the wine pour was completely off. About 1/4 full. Literally wine tasting portions. Very upsetting as their pricing for wine by the glass is not cheap. I felt cheated. We decided to have dinner there that evening as it was raining. The restaurant was completely empty and we asked to be seated by the pool area. We were told that we needed reservations to dine at their restaurant, despite the fact that we were guests at their hotel. We asked for a reservation and were told that all tables were reserved minus one that was in a corner next to a water filtration system. We ordered food, the food was good, the service was not. Again wine pours completely off. We stayed til closing. The whole time there were empty tables by the pool. The manager Miguel, who was pleasant, mentioned that if a table opened up, he would let us know. Never did. I mentioned it to him in the morning and he said that reserved guests never made it or said they would be late. Unfortunately, this is not the case as there were plenty of better tables available until closing. I will never stay at this hotel again.
