York Pavilion Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

The pictures looked amazing when booking but the experience when arriving was unfortunately not , more attention to comfort is vital , the beds were old cheap box spring sets, bathroom outdated , Television was tiny and channels limited, the room heating was also not adequate, they should turn the heating on in advance so the room is warm For the guests arrival on cold days , on a very positive note the Hotel it’s self is a very Beautiful, it also has nice period public rooms for the building

It’s a lovely village and central to everything and a designer outlet with a wide range of shops which i was happy going around and spending money in

Hotel itself was lovely, room was lovely and clean. Howevee upon arrival the reception staff seemed preoccupied to start with but when he was dealing with us checking in nothing was explained clearly which lead to various confusions. Upon checking out at 9am no reception staff untill 10am and the lady that dealt with us didnt know what she was doing and was clearly inconvenienced by us wanting to check out. Told us the receptionist would ring to sprt out our outstanding bar bill however no phonecall came. Overall disappointed by the staff.

Our apartment was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay although there were no toiletries apart from a shower cap. However, we always take our own so it wasn't a problem and I am sure they would have been provided if we had asked. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Free parking and we were also able to leave our car there after checking out in order to make the most of our last day in York, which was a bonus.

The check in was fantastic... the room left a lot to be desired for. For what i paid for the room the photos where not what was shown. The room smelt horrible there was blood on my pillowcase. And the couple next door lets say we heard them all night. I paid extra for breakfast and got very little. Very poor. Couldnt wait to leave if i was honest. I did try and speak to someone but they where more interested in going home which was about 1120ish. Sorry best Western this wasn't one of your better hotels.

I have stayed at the Pavilion before and always enjoyed our visits. This time though we had a issue with our room, whilst the staff were very apologetic the service we received to correct it was not good. Communication between other members of staff was poor and i had to complain twice. The matter was resolved with me speaking to the manager and it will not stop us from visiting again. I just feel it could have been handled so much better.

Property looked good on outside initial inspection of room with queen size four poster very small for £165 a night valence round top of four poster very dusty and sheets had a hole in them ... not even a glass to have water or brush your teeth definitely not worth the money ... no lift room on second floor no offer of help with case ... I have a bad knee so would have appreciated this ...
