Hotel Allure

It was just an okay place though expensive. I am not impressed with the room service especially the daily cleaning. The sheets were never changed and the cleaning was done casually even after my initial complaint. But the staff were nice and the place could be made more comfortable

A convenient place to stay, with everything you need. Walkable easily to the Jewish quarter and ARTIS zoo, as well as to the red light district and, if your legs are up to it, Amsterdam Centraal and the docks whence many of the canal cruises depart. Apart from breakfast the hotel has a vending machine with various snacks and drinks (including beer). Other commenters have mentioned that the steps are steep and narrow, which is true, but then perhaps if you dislike tall narrow buildings, the Netherlands is not the destination for you. I had 35kg (~75lb) of luggage and yes it was a bit of a strain to get that up the main entrance steps, but thereafter the elevator was fine. Room was clean and comfortable, not incredibly new inside but well-maintained and serviced. Pleasant view of typical Dutch architecture across the street. Bathroom is naturally very confined and has shower only, but again everything was clean and working perfectly. Would stay here again if my travels bring me to Amsterdam once more.

Hotel was in a great location. We had a room off a separate building. Bathroom was super small. And due to being on the ground floor, we saw some ants in our room; even had a few crawling on me.

Well located, well run and comfortable enough for a business trip. Some street noise audible in my room - although this is a major capital city!

The room was very small, sunk down below the sidewalk view that we had and did not have any aircon in the room. The picture in the ad was not representative of our room. It was convenient to mass transit, both trams and metro. The neighborhood doesn't have much in the way of restaurants that we could find but that was not an issue with the mass transit. The staff was helpful in shipping something that we left behind to a port our cruise docked in.
