Good location, easy check in/out. Very clean apartment.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Was well equipped and warm. The location was excellent for the Mailbox and surrounding restaurants and within easy walking distance of New Street station. The reception area was a little unusual more like walking into an office, that aside the lady was helpful and informative
Greeted in arrival to lovely friendly lady more than happy to make you welcome. Have to pay £250 dep on arrival which we thought was steep but when explained it's because of the overall cost of things in apartment you understand why, no problem. Get into apartment all looks well very clean lovely lay out. On closer inspection some things were broke already ie curtains hanging down tile in bathroom floor loose which we thought was little bad due to deposit being paid to cover this. Staff in formed of this as soon as noticed. Close to all the night life and great eats! Didn't sleep well but this was due to the high volume of noise on the street maybe reinforced windows? Overall great stay and would be back!
Having booked and paid for my room I get a call the day before arrival to say they had over booked and so they were moving me to another (lower rated) hotel. They claimed that there was no price difference and that they had paid all the money I paid to the new hotel. When I arrived at the hotel they asked me to pay because The Spires had not paid. Also, it was clear that the room rate was well below what I had paid. I have written to the Spires requesting a rebate of the price difference and they have completely ignored my email. This is terrible customer service and I won't be using this hotel again.
We had a brilliant stay at The Spires. We stayed in a duplex which was fantastic and had lots of space to chill out - so much better than staying in a hotel. It was great having a kitchen with everything you need to self cater and very handy having a downstairs cloakroom too. The duplex was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. We would recommend The Spires to anyone visiting Birmingham and will definitely stay there again.
The bathroom was a bit dirty hairs in the plug hole marks on kitchen cupboards
