Holiday Inn Rugby/ Northampton M1, Jct 18

The room was small but comfortable except for the heating. There was a control panel on the wall, but despite turning it up to the max of 32 degrees, we were chilly for most of the eveneing. We couldn't feel warm air coming in through the vents & I think the only rerason we felt warmer later was that we'd become acclimatised. The room was clean & the TV was a good size. I had booked a King Size but only had a double. The room served it's purpose as it was well located near to the M1 & was good value.

Fabulous. Easy to find, great value and the bonus of the health club. Room was clean and tidy, bed comfortable.

Room was not clean enough, finger nails on the carpet, wood live on the curtain, massive spider in the room, only one cup to drink out of. Was disappointed

Room was adequate, though small and not what we expected for “deluxe” category. The room was cold and there were no instructions for the heating / aircon, so after fiddling with the wall control to no effect, we eventually chanced on a thermostatic rad valve set to “snowflake”. After that it was comfortable enough and the shower was good & clean. Breakfast cost £10 each and was terrible - not enough chairs for the tables (we had to move one from the far side of the restaurant); the staff worked hard but there were only 2 of them plus the chef, so we had to pester for coffee, then for milk. The choice of non-cooked food was very limited - only cereal, toast & muffin, no pastries, no fruit salad (as advertised on the menu), no cold meat / cheese / salad, etc. Clearly, the Covid-19 pandemic was causing problems, but this was very disappointing.

We only stopped the 1 night, but the staff from checking in to breakfast were all fantastic. All had a smile and had a laugh and joke with us. My partner forgot his mask (still had his mouth and nose covered by his coat) but they helped out and gave him a pack which contained a face mask, hand wipe, and a small bottle of hand sanitiser. Rooms were really clean and comfortable. The only small issue we had was breakfast.....it had been sat there too long so was dry. But apart from that we had a lovely stay.

The staff were very friendly and they accommodated to all our needs with smiles.

Good location, easy to find and surprisingly quiet. We arrived very late but nighttime porter was very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely use again when in the area.

They didn't advise that they take a pre authorisation on your card as well as payment. So in effect paying twice until they decide to release it which, 48 hours on, they still haven't done! Very clean but bed squeaked badly, fridge in executive room didn't keep anything cool and full price for breakfast despite being lockdown toastie and tea in cardboard cup
