I honestly expected a little more. When we travel, we often stay at budget hotels, and I'm willing to overlook lots of little imperfections. But this was considerably pricier, and my expectations were higher. I appreciated the good service and communication. We were upgraded to a nicer room than we had originally booked. The tub/steam shower was cool, although it took us quite a while to figure out how to operate it, and the plug wouldn't come out, so it wouldn't drain. But there were lots of cosmetic flaws. It's an old building; I understand that. But exterior stairs that are falling apart, spiderwebs on the patio furniture ... those aren't part of the charm; those are issues that should be addressed.
