Fond Doux Eco Resort

This is beautiful place with a great vibe and a real commitment to eco-friendly tourism. If you need a TV and air conditioning to be happy on vacation this isn’t the place for you. However, if you enjoy breezes on your private porch, watching birds, listening to the frogs, and being surround by rain forest this is your place.

This is an eco friendly resort in the rain forest that delivers calm, beauty and relaxation. It is close to most tourist attractions. Staff are peasant and friendly. We enjoyed ourselves greatly

The hospitality at Fond Doux is excellent. The staff are all charming. The Independence Day cocktail was a lovely touch. Their efforts to promote a sustainable approach to tourism, prizing the environment and local goods and services, is great. Our cottage, nestled in the jungle, was rustic and comfortable, and would be perfection with just a little updating. Breakfast is hearty, including delicious local fruit and bakes. Only the poor food at the Bamboo restaurant lets the place down. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay. We would definitely come here again, but we'd eat dinner elsewhere.

The buildings are in traditional style with fretwork, wooden floors and verandas all set in a beautiful plantation full of tropical flowers and plants. The views are magnificent and the plantation tour guides are excellent at pointing out the plants and their uses. The open air restaurant serves a range of traditionally influenced foods in a relaxed and picturesque environment. The resort also features 3 pools and a shuttle service to nearby Sugar Beach. We loved it. Highly recommended.

Staying in lodge on the slopes of a beautiful plantation was wonderous. Be aware though that access to some of these lodges involves many steps. A few niggly room comments but too minor to detail. Great staff and very relaxing. A rental car is a must have.

They didn’t offer me none of the free tours of the plantation/ chocolate tour or the free hike on the plantation, But when it came to the paid activities they made sure they got in contact with you. I was there in my room for 3 days because of the weather and not once did house keeping come to my room to clean. The forth day I left the resort to go to sugar beach and when I came back I notice that someone was in my room. Housekeeping decide to go in my room without my request and while I was gone and they didn’t clean any they didn’t give me clean towels and left dirty dishes and food in room so what was the reason to come in my room while I wasn’t there. The food is not good at all, they don’t have what’s on the menu so u have lil to choose from. The free breakfast is a real joke and is not breakfast food and very lil to choose from. I jus ate fruit. The noise is unbearable between the birds and every morning I got woke up to the sound of a loud lawn Mower that was going on from 7:30AM straight throwout the afternoon very loud noisy not peaceful at all. I stayed at the hill top and when I checked out no one came to help with luggage down. And make sure you do your own calculation of what you buy because they will try to gypped you and over charge you. I got the lunch and dinner meal plan for $75us and they didn’t put any meal plan on Bill they charged food separately which came up to more money. They just about the money and getting you to spend it all while you visiting
