Palazzo Giaracà

Simply terrible

The hotel is nothing like the photos in the internet. It is in a beautiful old Palazzo which is however completely neglected and in a dirty and terrible condition. In addition there is practically no one at the reception and you always have to hope that someone shows up. They also rent out a parking space for supposedly 15€ per day, which turns out to be 18€ per day at the end of your stay...the parking space is located in the alley of the hotel. The space is always packed with cars which park in two rows and a max of 4 cars per row behind one another; ie if your car by chance moves to the backside of the rows a minimum of 3 cars need to be moved to get you out... with no one at the front desk very stressful. And before I forget: don’t have the crostata for breakfast, it is at least a week old. Anyways I would not recommend booking this hotel. Finally, I do not understand why this place receives some excellent reviews...this can only be fake and lure people into booking this hotel via the app!!!!

We loved this hotel

From the moment we arrived, and the woman sweeping the floor offered to move her car so we could park on the street, we were enchanted by this lovely hotel. The location is without peer; on Ortygia, a short walk to everything

Very good value for money

Hotel is well placed inside Ortigia, restaurants and bars are close by. Room was big with air-conditioning although it didn't have a real window to open. Still I think it was very good value for money.

This property was really beautiful and very well located, just over the bridge from Siracusa and on the small peninsula of Ortigia. The room was lovely and the hosts were very kind and easy to communicate with. My only criticism is the bed was a bit stiff, but didn’t ruin any aspect of my time there. I would definitely recommend this property if you’re looking for a lovely place at a great value in Ortigia!

Great location in Ortigia

This was a charming older hotel in a fantastic location in Ortigia. It was a great location to explore the area on foot-- could easily walk around the island or across the bridge to the rest of Siracusa. The check in was easy. It was about a 7 min walk to the main public parking garage, but you can drive up to the front of the hotel to drop off bags. Our room was a bit dark--with no windows except above the door, so there wasn't a view--but it was comfortable and clean with a good bathroom.

Beautifully historic hotel

Instantly eye catching when you walk into the lobby, a tastefully restored piece of 18th century architecture, with polite and very helpful staff. Decent complimentary breakfast set me up for the day. Only, slight, disappointment was that my room, although nicely decorated, clean and airy, overlooked the lobby with no windows onto the street. However, most rooms do. All-in-all, a very enjoyable stay.

Great room in the center

Great location, next to the sea and on walking distance from everything in Ortigia. Very spacious room and a great breakfast. Both the director and Marzia were very helpful and welcoming.
