Ruined new years celebrations
Booked for 5 nights over New Years and left after 2. We wanted to move to a different room as people were partying until 5am the day before New Years Eve. Security did try to ask them to be quiet but failed and just gave up. Nobody cleaned the room, there was a leak in the bathroom. We called and called and could not get in touch with anyone. Tried 5 different numbers (from UK mobile which cost a load). Email wasn't responded to until 5 days later when we were no longer in Tulum! Then they just said we stayed there so wouldn't give us a refund. Spent most of NYE daytime on the virtual chat and phone to Hotels.com instead of relaxing at the beach. Gave up and found somewhere last minute for New Years with a better location and cleaned room.
