Super 8 by Wyndham Dewitt

The hotel was okay, better than sleeping in the car. I was there for a dog show and the dog fee was to be waived, they charged me $20 even after telling them I was with the dog show (the club worked a deal with them.) the heater in my room stopped working, we couldn’t get it fixed so we were offered a space heater which was nice. Then the tv stopped working and i didn’t bother saying anything. The hotel could use some serious updates but it wasn’t dirty, just worn down. The beds were uncomfortable (maybe somebody else likes them). Didn’t get much sleep as we had big dogs in the room above us who stomped all night.

Hotel is definitely not very clean, and while we know everyone in this area is stressed due to the storm that came through Iowa Monday, the owner here acted like we were a bother to him by renting a room. Our air conditioner quit working at 11:30pm, my husband finally got it running around 2am. No amenities at all due to storm but still had to pay $85 to stay. Ridiculous

I liked that a room was ready when i arrived..i didn't like that there wasn't many towels available..

No air conditioning, then got charged an additional $50 after I left for no apparent reason. Will not stay there again

a nice clean hospitable hotel in a nice iowa town, just what I needed for the price of 52.00$ while I was traveling thru

The bed was very comfortable. The room was spacious. The tub was slippery, so not sure if the water was "soft" which made it more so. This is off season, so the continental breakfast may be different when in season. However, not much choice for breakfast and the batter for the Belgian waffle was so watery that it did not get cooked completely so could not eat it. I ended up eating cereal.

Was supposed to get a queen bed but only a full size bed.

It was okay. The hotel was clean. The lobby area is closed and locked after a certain time. I could not access front desk to return my key and check out (I had to leave at 0500)

This hotel was definitely not worth 72.79 per night. This is a ONE STAR hotel at best.Owner (guessing) was quick to check me in. Lobby had 5 cameras pointing in every direction from behind counter, is that much security needed? Owner pointed to signs on wall to explain breakfast hours, pet policy and so on. English not first language, that doesn’t bother me but if your going to own a business where in theory you have direct contact with customers, be able or willing to speak to me. The hallway to the rooms smelled musty, I should have known! I opened my room and the smell reminded me of my uncles damp mildewed basement. I carry Lysol with me when I travel, it didn’t help! I literally woke up at 2:AM and Lysoled the room yet again. I called down and nobody ever picked up at the front desk phone. After 15 hours on the road that day, I really didn’t want to move my stuff to another room that was odds are going to smell as bad or worse.The walls had putty and paint touch ups that were 3 shades whiter than the dingy walls. Everything g was just dingy. The rooms, hallway and lobby. FREE BREAKFAST! Umm, the choices between two cereals, one milk and I believe OJ was not that stellar. Ohh and they had wheat bread and Hostess Chocolate donuts! My travels as of late have taken me to some less than lovely hotels. When you spend 50+ nights a year in hotels on your own dime you tend to economize as much as possible. My advice, when your in Dewitt, IA SKIP THIS PLACE!

The room was very clean. Coffee machine in room needs to be cleaned regularly. Washing and dryer on site. Staff only available 6am to 11pm.
