This resort is cheap, not worthy of the Wyndham brand name. I really can go on and on about how bad it is in the resort. But the main reason is that the property smells like sewage. There is only one main pool side bar, cheap liquor and bad drinks. They have a mini bar by the pool but its just to get beer or some other cheap drink. No staff on hand to wait on you. they run out of towels immediately and don't replace them. They have a side business with an cash bar open to the public on the side of the resort with a pool full entrance to the resort, which i find very dangerous. Anyone from the outside can enter this property. The snack and food choices are bad and limited. The rooms and beds are tiny, everything is outdated, cheap and feels like it is going to fall apart. the whole hotel should be knocked down and rebuilt.
I always enjoy going to Viva Wyndham Resorts because they have great staff, amenities, and entertainers. This Viva although a bit smaller than the others I have visited was nice and cozy. The food was great and the cleaning staff was incredible. Our only issue was that I visited the property with a friend and we requested two beds. Onced check-in we get to the room and they had given us a king size bed. When addressing the issue they claimed I never requested a double bed room although I had proof I did. It was immensely uncomfortable having to share a bed with a friend. After daily insistence half way through our stay they finally changed the room which I am thankful although I felt as if I was inconveniencing them. Did I have a great time? yes. Will I stay at another Viva? Yes
Our stay at this resort was amazing! I cant say enough about the staff and our experience at Viva. From day one the staff was friendly and extremely welcoming to me and my family. Everywhere we went we were greeted with smiles. We traveled with 3 children and the entertainment staff made sure to include them in all the kids activities. The resort was clean and you can tell that they take pride in there establishment. The buffet offered an array of choices. The pools were great and the beach was beautiful. We highly recommend this resort and we will surely be returning!
We had a great stay ! Atmosphere was great and very friendly with the other guests. The staff were excellent, especially the waiters and service staff in the main restaurant. The food in the main buffet was pretty good - we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was - and they changed the menu each day. Coffee at breakfast was excellent. I have seen previous complaints about weak drinks, but all the mojitos I had were fine - drinks flowed throughout the day with little or no waiting time. The 3 restaurants for dinner were excellent - you can easily pay $30-40/head for the same quality at any restaurant in the Caribbean. Cabarete town was an easy 10 minute stroll down the beach (and felt safe at night), if you need to stretch your legs and get a change of scenery, or try a different restaurant. Room was dated, tired, but clean. We did not have a fridge or a travel cot in our room (despite requesting the cot in advance by email and telephone). Hawkers on the beach are slightly pushy, but friendly and all are uniformed/licensed. Great spot for kiting. Overall highly recommended.
Beautiful grounds and very clean. They where decorating for xmas and it was so beautiful.
For the price we paid, we got exactly what we paid for. At first we felt gipped. Food was so/sp (we got there at the end of lunch), rooms were ok (beds were hard), resort was ok, BUT once we started to think about how much we paid ($35 a day per person) our mood totally changed. The resort isn't the best I have been at by any means, but the staff were SUPER nice, they were SUPER accommodating and we enjoyed our time there.
Food was terrible at the buffet, the wine and scotch tasted like vinegar.
I enjoyed the relaxing on the beach. What I didn’t enjoy was that when I arrived they didn’t have handy the type of reservation I had made ocean view and I was given a garden view. I realized after I was brought to room and then I had To get changed. The last night resort lost electricity and we slept without ac. Very hot. Food was ok not a great variety. Didn’t appreciate they lie to get you to buy a members club by introduce you to a new hotel and offer you a free lunch even after I specifically told them I was not interested in any time sharing programs. Guy said no it was so we can rate the new hotel. It was a lie lie. I walked out and was very upset.
Small, friendly, older resort with a good location near town center. Very nice, attentive staff.
Food was not good , small property and also very few entertainment options
